Sukkot in the Gospels and Revelation by Dee Ann Stover on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 1:10pm

Sukkot in the Gospels and Revelation…Luke 2:7 — and she brought forth her son — the first-born, and wrapped him up, and laid him down in the manger, because there was not for them a place in the guest-chamber.If you have seen a manger scene the structure of the stable IS a Sukkah! Hebrew word for stable/manger(interchangeable in Hebrew according to Gen 33:17) is also Sukkah according to Gen. 33:17 so Y’shua was born in a sukkah and very likely during the feast of Sukkot (and possibly circumcised on the Great 8th Day, if that is the case) according to the timing of Zechariah’s temple service! So some choose to celebrate the birth of Messiah at this time and his resurrection on First Fruits. Jhn 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and did tabernacle (Sukkah) among us, and we beheld his glory, glory as of an only begotten of a father, full of grace and truth. John 7:2 — Now the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) was at hand…11 Then the Jews sought him (Yeshua) at the feast, and said, Where is he?…14 Now about the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught…37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink…38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water (Great 8th Day, Shemeini Atzeret, day of the Temple water libation flowing through the streets of Jerusalem). Jhn 14:2-3 — in the house of my Father are many dwellings (sukkot); and if not, I would have told you; I go on to prepare a place for you; and if I go on and prepare for you a place, again do I come, and will receive you unto myself, that where I am ye also may be;Mat 17:4 — And Peter answering said to Jesus, `Sir, it is good to us to be here; if thou wilt, we may make here three booths (Sukkot)– for thee one, and for Moses one, and one for Elijah.’Rev 7:9,10 — After these things I saw, and lo, a great multitude, which to number no one was able, out of all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues (theme of Sukkot), standing before the throne, and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands, and crying with a great voice, saying, `The salvation [is] to Him who is sitting upon the throne — to our God, and to the Lamb!’Rev 21:3 and I heard a great voice out of the heaven, saying, `Lo, the tabernacle (Sukkah) of God [is] with men, and He will tabernacle (Sukkah) with them, and they shall be His peoples, and God Himself shall be with them — their God,
